Tunisian Cultural Heritage Attracts 1.5 Million Visitors in 2024
According to the activity report of the Agency for the Valorization of Heritage and Cultural Promotion (AMVPPC), Tunisia's cultural heritage attracted 1.5 million visitors in 2024. This figure, which only concerns paid visits, reflects a growing interest in the country's museums, archaeological sites, and historical monuments. This success testifies to the richness and attractiveness of Tunisia's cultural heritage, which continues to seduce both local and international tourists.
In financial terms, the revenue generated by these visits reached 13.3 million dinars in 2024, marking a significant 35% increase compared to the 9.8 million dinars recorded in 2023. A large part of this growth is attributed to collaboration with travel agencies, which contributed 55% of the revenue. These figures demonstrate the effectiveness of efforts to promote cultural heritage and make it an economic lever.
This positive dynamic highlights the importance of continuing to valorize Tunisia's cultural treasures. With targeted initiatives and increased collaboration with tourism stakeholders, the country can hope to further strengthen this sector while preserving and showcasing its rich historical heritage.
