Tunisair Sees 5.6% Increase in Revenue in Q1 2024

Tunisair has reported a 5.6% increase in revenue in the first quarter of 2024, reaching 316 million dinars, up from 299 million dinars in the same period last year. This growth is attributed to an increase in the number of passengers transported, from 512,000 to 516,000, as well as a 4.5% increase in average revenue per passenger on regular flights.

According to the company's activity indicators, the number of flight hours, including both regular and supplementary flights, also increased by 8.6%, totaling 11,659 hours of flight. Furthermore, Tunisair has noted an improvement in flight punctuality, with a 13-point increase, although the market share has decreased by 3 points and the load factor has decreased by 4 points.

Despite these positive performances, the company has also recorded an increase in expenses. Maintenance and repair costs have risen due to repair work on two engines. Fuel expenses have also increased by 2.3% in 2024, attributed to a 7.3% increase in fuel consumption and a 2.4% increase in the price of a barrel of oil. Additionally, personnel-related expenses have increased by 6% due to legal salary increases.

However, a positive note in this context is the 4% decrease in debt, mainly due to the repayment of ongoing loans, testifying to Tunisair's prudent financial management despite the challenges faced.
