Tunisair Prepares for Strategic Turnaround in Transformation Plan

Tunisair, the national airline of Tunisia, is preparing for a strategic turnaround in its transformation plan. The company is currently developing a tender document to select international experts specialized in restructuring and accompanying airlines.

Background

This initiative is part of the Ministry of Transport's guidelines, which encourage Tunisair to rethink its operational model. According to the TAP agency, in response to a written question from MP Halim Boussema, the ministry recalls that this approach follows the decisions of the restricted ministerial council of January 31, 2025, which set a deadline of the end of March 2025 for the presentation of a restructuring plan.

Previous Plans

In fact, Tunisair had submitted a first version of the program in March 2025. A second version was then prepared, incorporating the observations of the Presidency of the Government and the Ministry of Transport, according to the response published on the website of the Assembly of the People's Representatives.

Key Objectives

The plan provides for concrete measures to improve operational efficiency, rationalize management, and strengthen the company's competitiveness. It must also align with national regulations while adopting international best practices in governance.

Selection of Experts

Meanwhile, the tender document will define the technical and professional criteria for selecting the expert firm that will accompany Tunisair in this critical phase, a key support to consolidate the company's transformation trajectory.
