Tunisair Elected to Executive Committee of Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO)
Tunisair, the national airline of Tunisia, has been elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) during the 58th Annual General Assembly held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in Rabat. This election marks a regional recognition of Tunisair and strengthens its position among the major players in the air transport sector in the Arab world.
The Director General of Tunisair, Halima Ibrahim Khouaja, represented the company at this event. Her election to the Executive Committee is an important step for the company, allowing it to participate more actively in strategic decision-making that influences the Arab and international air transport sector.
Founded in 1965, the AACO brings together 38 Arab airlines. The organization works to promote their common interests, particularly in terms of safety, security, environmental policy, human resources, and coordination of air policies. It also plays a key role in defending the interests of its members before international civil aviation authorities.
The Executive Committee, composed of nine elected leaders from member companies, is the supreme decision-making body of the AACO. By joining this structure, Tunisair consolidates its influence within the regional air transport sector and strengthens its participation in the major orientations of Arab cooperation in the field of air transport.
