Tunisair to Operate 44 Flights for Tunisian Pilgrims to Saudi Arabia

Tunisair, the national airline of Tunisia, plans to operate 44 round-trip flights to transport Tunisian pilgrims to the holy sites in Saudi Arabia during the 2026 Hajj season. Approximately 5,700 pilgrims will be affected by this arrangement, which will take place from May 7 to June 14, 2026.

Flight Schedule

The outbound flights are scheduled between May 7 and 21. The first departures will be to Medina (from May 7 to 12), followed by flights to Jeddah between May 13 and 21. Five Tunisian airports will be used: Tunis-Carthage, Sfax-Thyna, Monastir Habib Bourguiba, Djerba-Zarzis, and Gabès-Matmata. This distribution aims to limit internal travel and improve the travel conditions of pilgrims.

Return Flights

The return flights are scheduled from June 1 to 14, with 22 rotations departing from Medina and Jeddah.

Special Services

Tunisair announces specific facilities for luggage: each pilgrim can transport two suitcases of 23 kg each, in addition to a 8 kg cabin bag and 5 liters of Zamzam water. Furthermore, the company introduces a new service called "Hajj without luggage." This service allows pilgrims to retrieve their personal belongings directly at their accommodation, without waiting at the airport. The luggage is taken care of upon arrival and delivered to the hotels, then retrieved before the return departure.

"Hajj without Luggage" Service

The company specifies that this system is supervised by specialized teams and requires compliance with certain logistical instructions, including the correct identification of luggage. This service is designed to make the pilgrimage experience more convenient and hassle-free for Tunisian pilgrims.
