Tunisia Prepares for COP16 Biodiversity Conference

Tunisia is gearing up to participate in the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), scheduled to take place from October 21 to November 1, 2024, in Cali, Colombia.

This biodiversity-focused event will bring together delegations from around the world to discuss conservation and sustainable development challenges.

In this context, the WWF North Africa Office, in collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Environment, is organizing an information day on October 8, 2024, in Tunis.

This meeting will focus on Tunisia's participation in COP16 and the presentation of the "Biodev 2030" project, which plays a crucial role in developing solutions in favor of biodiversity.

The day's program includes presentations on the stakes of Tunisia's presence at COP16, the Convention on Biological Diversity, and the Global Biodiversity Framework.

It is worth noting that Tunisia launched, on September 24, 2024, a community-based conservation project for biodiversity, which follows up on the "Biodev 2030" project.

This project aims to strengthen local actions in favor of biodiversity preservation, a key issue at the heart of the discussions planned during COP16.
