Traffic Disruptions Expected in Tunis on Thursday, May 14, 2026
The Tunisian Ministry of Interior has announced planned traffic disruptions for this Thursday, May 14, 2026, in several areas of central Tunis and around the Kasbah.
Affected Areas
According to a statement published on Wednesday, May 13, the ministry specified that the circulation of all types of vehicles will be prohibited from 4:00 PM in several streets and avenues of the capital. The restrictions will affect:
- Avenue du 2 Mars in the direction of the Kasbah square
- Avenue Bab Jedid in its entirety
- Avenue Sidi El Béchir in the direction of the Jazira square, starting from the Bab Alioua square
- Rue de la Jazira, starting from the Victoire square
- Avenue Jamel Abdel Nasser, starting from the Independence square
Alternative Routes
The ministry has also indicated that motorists wishing to reach the western suburbs can take Avenue Habib Bourguiba and then Avenue de Carthage.
Additional Restrictions
Furthermore, stopping and parking have been prohibited since Wednesday evening on Avenue Bab Jedid, between the Jazira square and the Souk El Asr street, near the Amen Bank.
Call to Respect Traffic Regulations
The authorities are urging road users to respect the Highway Code and follow the instructions of traffic agents to ensure the safety of all and minimize traffic disruptions.
