Worst Airports in the World: Tunis-Carthage Ranks Last in AirHelp 2025 Ranking
According to the AirHelp 2025 ranking, Tunis-Carthage Airport (TUN) is the worst airport in the world, with a score of 5.73/10. Only 54% of flights depart on time, and travelers highlight endless queues, limited facilities, and a lack of clear information. Despite these criticisms, some note recent improvements in border control and signage, hinting at possible modernization.
Just behind, Rhodes Diagoras Airport (RHO) in Greece ranks second with a score of 6.05/10, followed by Tan Son Nhat Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (6.21/10), and Heraklion Airport (HER) in Greece (6.32/10). These tourist hubs suffer mainly from overcrowding during peak season, causing delays and congestion, despite having modern infrastructure in some areas.
Other airports in the top 10 include Hurghada (HRG) and Sharm el-Sheikh (SSH) in Egypt, Antalya (AYT) and Dalaman (DLM) in Turkey, Lisbon (LIS) in Portugal, and Noi Bai Airport (HAN) in Hanoi, Vietnam. While each airport has its strengths, such as spacious terminals, welcoming staff, or good dining options, punctuality remains the most penalizing criterion.
AirHelp emphasizes that this ranking is not intended to discredit these airports but to listen to passengers and highlight areas for improvement. Many are already planning investments and renovations to better manage passenger flow and offer a smoother experience, hoping that these tourist hubs will soon become pleasant stops rather than sources of frustration.
