Tunisia International Expo 2025 Kicks Off at Tunis Convention Center
The Tunis Convention Center hosted the first day of the Tunisia International Expo 2025 (TIEXPO) on Friday, September 12. This major event in the tourism sector, organized by the Tunisian Federation of Travel Agencies (FTAV), was entirely dedicated to professionals. The opening day brought together a significant number of participants from Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, and other countries to discuss the latest trends in cultural and religious tourism, with a particular focus on Omra.
Innovative Solutions and Offers
Travel agencies, investors, fintech and tourism tech startups, as well as artisanal creators, presented innovative offers and solutions aimed at developing the sector. The organizers emphasized the need to further professionalize the tourism sector in Tunisia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and a consumer protection association, to ensure clear contracts and protect travelers from illegal practices.
Launch of "Ruwad Ashraqat for Omra" Program
The Saudi company Ashraqat, represented by its CEO Mohammed Abdullah Badgish, officially launched its new program "Ruwad Ashraqat for Omra". This initiative aims to enrich the pilgrimage experience with cultural discovery activities in Saudi Arabia. Badgish also announced that Tunisia will be the first destination to promote religious and cultural tourism, praising the 40 years of historical cooperation with the country.
Digitalization and Sustainable Tourism
The event also highlighted the role of young people and Tunisian startups in the digitalization of the sector, as well as the promotion of alternative and sustainable tourism - desert, oasis, marine, and thermal - and local artisanal heritage, in partnership with the National Office of Artisanat (ONAT).
