Innovative Projects Shine at Tunisia's First Hackathon for Creative Writing and Artificial Intelligence
During Tunisia's first exceptional hackathon dedicated to creative writing and artificial intelligence, three innovative projects were crowned: an immersive educational platform, a cultural heritage valorization tool, and a digital reading portal. Here's a detailed look at these promising initiatives, which boast a high degree of innovation and creativity.
The hackathon, titled "Meet the Professionals," was organized from November 20 to 24 in La Marsa by the International Center of Tunis for Digital Cultural Economy, in partnership with the startup Vegabook. The event successfully brought together over 50 participants from the world of writing, design, and development.
The goal of the hackathon was to stimulate creativity and innovation at the intersection of writing and artificial intelligence, offering participants a collaborative framework to imagine new and ingenious digital solutions. After three days of bootcamp and a 24-hour sprint, the jury, composed of digital and publishing professionals, distinguished three projects that stood out for their originality and potential impact.
Award-Winning Projects
The first prize was awarded to Simplify, which proposes an immersive educational platform that transforms school content into interactive digital stories. The tool uses customizable avatars and animations to make learning fun and attractive, while integrating pedagogical supports generated by artificial intelligence, capable of adapting to the needs of students.
The second prize was awarded to Notre Histoire, a digital application that valorizes Tunisian cultural heritage through interactive and immersive stories. Artificial intelligence enables the creation of engaging narrative paths, making history and collective memory accessible to a wide audience, particularly young generations.
The third prize was awarded to Biblioscope, which focuses on promoting reading. This digital platform combines personalized recommendations, interactive visualizations, and innovative formats to captivate readers and stimulate engagement around books, offering a renewed and immersive reading experience.
Incubation Program and Future Opportunities
In addition to financial rewards, the three teams will have the opportunity to benefit from a high-quality incubation program, including technical and editorial support, specialized workshops, and post-event follow-up, with the possibility of publishing their projects in digital or audiovisual format.
The event marks an important step in the development of cultural innovation in Tunisia, encouraging creative writing assisted by artificial intelligence and revealing new talents in the digital and cultural sectors.
