E-Constat: A New Mobile Application for Tunisian Motorists to Declare Accidents

Soon, Tunisian motorists will be able to declare accidents directly from their smartphones using the E-Constat application, announced by Hatem Amira, Executive Director of the Tunisian Federation of Insurance Companies (FTUSA), during his intervention on Express FM today. "The goal is to make life easier for citizens," emphasized Hatem Amira. With this innovation, paper forms that are lost or incorrectly filled out will be a thing of the past. Developed by Tunisian talent, the application brings Tunisia closer to international standards already in place elsewhere.

How Does E-Constat Work?

The application, available now on the Play Store and App Store, was designed to be intuitive. The steps are clear:

  1. Identification: The user enters their personal information.
  2. Photo Capture: The application guides the user in capturing documents (identity card, driver's license) and damage to vehicles.
  3. Sketch: A drawing of the accident can be made directly on the touchscreen.
  4. Validation and Sending: The report is verified and then transmitted instantly to the insurance company.

The entire process takes just a few minutes, allowing drivers to leave the scene quickly and with peace of mind. Although the application is already downloadable, it is currently in the internal testing phase within insurance companies. Declarations made by the public are not yet being taken into account. According to Hatem Amira, the official launch for users is scheduled for no later than November 1st. A communication campaign will accompany the deployment to familiarize citizens with this tool.

Digitalization of the Tunisian Insurance Sector

This digitalization is part of a broader dynamic in the Tunisian insurance sector, which has already been engaged since 2024 in creating an inter-company platform to accelerate the management of claim files. With E-Constat, the sector is taking a new step towards modernization, promising a more fluid and efficient experience for all insured individuals.
