THAMM Plus Program: Italy to Grant 2,000 Visas to Tunisian Workers in the Construction Industry

The "THAMM Plus" program, launched in March and recently reannounced by Italian Labor Minister Marina Calderone during her latest visit to Tunisia, aims to train Tunisian workers in the construction industry to meet the needs of the Italian market.

Through this initiative, Italy has committed to issuing 2,000 visas to Tunisian workers over a period of three years. In addition to technical skills, this training includes Italian language courses and modules on workplace safety.

This collaborative program between Tunisia and Italy is part of a broader effort to address labor shortages in several Italian sectors, particularly in construction.

Beyond the construction industry, Italy also plans to grant an additional 10,000 visas to foreign caregivers starting in 2025 as part of a pilot project.

It's worth noting that Italy has set a target of 165,000 visas for foreign workers by 2025, a significant increase compared to previous years.

Among these, 93,550 visas will be reserved for seasonal workers, with a strict framework to verify the validity of applications.
