Ministry of Transport Launches Special Program for Winter Holidays and New Year's Day
The Ministry of Transport has implemented a special program from December 20 to 22, 2024, and from January 4 to 6, 2025, coinciding with the winter holidays and New Year's Day. Developed in coordination with national and regional land transport and irregular public transport companies, this program aims to improve transport services and adapt to demand to ensure safe transportation under the best possible conditions, as part of preparations to secure citizen transportation during the 2024 winter holidays.
This program includes:
National Interurban Transport Company and Regional Transport Companies
Public road transport companies have been authorized to operate additional routes on all their lines and other routes based on demand. In this framework, 4,200 regular and 800 additional trips will be ensured by the National Interurban Transport Company and regional companies, representing a 19% increase compared to the normal total offer.
Tunisian National Railway Company
The Tunisian National Railway Company will operate 75 regular trips, offering approximately 14,000 seats.
Irregular Public Transport of Persons
"Louages" taxis have been granted exceptional authorization to operate throughout the national territory, without being limited to their usual region of operation, during this period.
Monitoring and Organization
Ministry observer teams have been deployed to ensure control and monitoring of the program at road stations, Tunisian railway stations, and "Louages" taxi stations across the country.
