Enda Inter-Arab Celebrates the Official Closure of the TRACE Project - Tunisian Rural and Agricultural Chains of Employment
The ceremony is being held at the Chela Chenini Youth Complex in Gabès, in the presence of beneficiaries, public and private partners, as well as representatives of the local ecosystem.
Funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands, implemented by the World Bank, and executed in the Gabès governorate by Enda Inter-Arab, in partnership with Enda Tamweel, this ambitious program was deployed from 2021 to 2024 to support rural employment through direct support to entrepreneurship in the agriculture, agri-food, fishing, services, and crafts sectors.
Concrete Results, Strong Human Impact
The TRACE project has achieved:
- 1,111 direct jobs created
- 104 economic units accompanied in the sectors of agriculture, agri-food, fishing, services, and crafts
- 82% of female beneficiaries and 31% of young people under 35 years old
- 72 training sessions and 549 coaching sessions conducted
- 3.3 million dinars in direct subsidies granted by the TRACE project in Gabès
- 7 million dinars in total funds mobilized, including project subsidies, credits, reinvestments, extensions, and self-financing

An Approach Based on 35 Years of Enda Expertise
TRACE is built on a solid methodology developed by Enda Inter-Arab over three decades of proximity action. The support process was articulated around four major stages:
- Selection and Maturation of Projects
- Granting of Subsidies, based on innovation, sustainability, and local impact criteria
- Support for Implementation (technical assistance, field monitoring)
- Professionalization of Project Holders and Networking
The supported projects stand out for their territorial added value, environmental footprint, and ability to generate sustainable jobs. The Enda team ensured:
- Commercial Viability of investments
- Strengthening of Entrepreneurial Skills
- Integration into Existing Value Chains
- Accounting for the Qualitative and Quantitative Needs of Local and National Markets
By celebrating the closure of the TRACE project, Enda Inter-Arab reaffirms its commitment to promoting rural employment and sustainable economic development in Tunisia.
