Tozeur Hosts Second Preparatory Meeting for International Investment Forum between Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya
Tozeur recently hosted the second preparatory meeting for the international investment forum between Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya. This forum, scheduled to take place in the coming months, aims to promote economic exchanges between the three countries.
The initiative behind this event comes from the World Organization for Peace, Development, and Culture, according to Sofiane Charfeddine, the forum's director.
During this preparatory session, participants discussed the creation of strategic partnerships between entrepreneurs from the three countries to structure cross-border trade, which is often informal.
Charfeddine emphasized that this meeting allowed for discussions on investment opportunities and the establishment of a more favorable legislative framework, with the goal of maximizing economic benefits for the region. Located at the border of the three countries, this area suffers from unregulated trade, which, if structured, could become a driver of economic development.
Tunisian, Algerian, and Libyan investors and young entrepreneurs shared their perspectives and suggestions on the forum's priorities.
Djomaa Ouzayani, an Algerian entrepreneur, highlighted the importance of creating a common market between the three countries.
Meanwhile, Safi Eddine Miadi, representing the regional development directorate in Tozeur, emphasized that such events can not only increase Tozeur's visibility on the economic and tourist fronts but also valorize its agricultural, cultural, and tourist riches at the national and regional levels.
