Morocco Welcomes 16.6 Million Tourists in 2025, a 14% Increase from Previous Year
Morocco has seen a significant surge in tourism, with 16.6 million visitors between January and October 2025, marking a 14% increase from the previous year, according to the Minister of Tourism, Fatim-Zahra Ammor. This growth confirms the dynamic recovery of the sector and reinforces the kingdom's position as a leader in African tourism.
A Global Leader in Tourism
The country has secured the 13th place in the world ranking of the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), positioning itself among the most visited destinations globally.
National Tourism Strategy
This achievement is part of the national tourism roadmap for 2023-2026, which aims to make Morocco a competitive, sustainable, and diversified destination. The country aims to reach 26 million visitors by 2030, in line with its economic diversification strategy and preparations for the 2030 World Cup, which it will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
Investment and Development
Since 2023, Morocco has added 43,000 new hotel beds, supported by public and private investments. Notable projects include the partnership between Alliances Group and Rixos Hotels, worth 1.5 billion dirhams, to create three new tourist complexes in Marrakech and Larache.
