Tunisia and Iraq Strengthen Cooperation in Tourism and Traditional Industries

According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism published on September 17, Tunisia and Iraq are set to reinforce their cooperation in the tourism and traditional industries sectors. This collaboration will be materialized through the implementation of training programs and the organization of a joint conference to stimulate tourist investment.

The two countries have developed an action plan covering several key areas. They have agreed to establish common training programs in tourism professions and to jointly promote their tourist attractions, particularly through media and social networks. Emphasis will be placed on organizing joint cultural events, such as exhibitions dedicated to traditional industries. The development of diversified tourist products, including cultural, sports, and medical tourism, is also planned.

Furthermore, Iraq will be the guest of honor at the Traditional Industries Fair, scheduled to take place in Tunisia next May, marking an important step in this collaboration. The two countries also plan to intensify exchanges between tourism professionals and hold a conference on tourist investment. This strengthening of ties aims to facilitate tourist flows between Tunisia and Iraq, while encouraging new bilateral investments in the sector.
