Morocco, Botswana, and Tanzania Emerge as Africa's Most Attractive Markets for Investors in 2024

According to the ninth edition of the Africa Risk-Reward Index, Morocco, Botswana, and Tanzania are set to emerge as the most attractive African markets for investors in 2024.

This report, published by Control Risks and Oxford Economics Africa, analyzes the risks and opportunities for investment in 26 African countries, providing strategic insights for business leaders on the business environment.

Morocco tops the ranking with a score of +1.18, with its business climate and return on investment opportunities continuing to attract investors. Botswana (+0.66) and Tanzania (+0.45) follow closely, with both countries showcasing high potential for returns on investment.

Notably, the index evaluates two major components: potential returns (on a scale of 1 to 10) and risk, which is the probability of unfavorable events affecting the business environment. These elements provide a measure of the overall attractiveness of African markets, where the final score results from the difference between return and risk.

In contrast, Tunisia ranks second-to-last, 25th out of 26, with a score of -2.05. This ranking is largely due to an unfavorable business climate and political instability.
