Teleconsultation Now Possible in Tunisia
Teleconsultation, which allows patients to consult a doctor remotely, is now possible in Tunisia. However, to benefit from this service, patients must have first been examined in person by their doctor. Nevertheless, remote medical imaging is not subject to this rule. Additionally, foreign patients or those suffering from certain contagious diseases may have their first consultation remotely.
This measure is the result of a decision by the Minister of Health, following consultation with medical and dental surgery experts, as well as the orders of physicians and dentists. These details were published in an official text in the Official Journal, in accordance with a decree by the Minister of Health regulating the precise conditions for the practice of telemedicine in each specialty.
