South African International Calling App Talk360 Secures $1.4 Million Pre-Series A Funding
Talk360, a South African international calling app, has secured $1.4 million in pre-series A funding to support its goal of connecting seven million people by 2025 and improving its long-term profitability trajectory.
Founded in 2016 by South African entrepreneur Dean Hiine, along with Dutch entrepreneurs Hans Osnabrugge and Jorne Schamp, Talk360 is Africa's first international calling app. It offers a user-friendly platform for making affordable international calls to mobile and fixed numbers.
With offices in South Africa, the Netherlands, India, and Nigeria, Talk360 has connected over four million people in 2023. The company raised $7 million in startup funding in 2022 and has now secured an additional $1.4 million in pre-series A funding to accelerate its growth.
The funding round was led by HAVAÍC, a long-time investor in Talk360, which contributed $1 million. Other investors provided the remaining $400,000, bringing the startup's total valuation to approximately $30 million.
With this new funding, Talk360 aims to expand its localization into additional African languages and establish more partnerships with money transfer companies, retailers, and brands, both locally and globally.
