Tabarka-Aïn Draham Tourism Zone Attracts Algerian Market Attention
The Tabarka-Aïn Draham tourism zone is increasingly attracting the attention of the Algerian market. This week, approximately 60 travel agents from Algeria visited the region to discover the local tourist offerings and exchange with hotel professionals, according to reports from the TAP agency.
Future Collaborations and Seasonal Preparations
These meetings allowed operators from both countries to discuss future collaborations, particularly for the 2026 summer season. The objective is to integrate the region's hotels into marketing programs targeting Algerian customers.
Strengthening Presence on the Algerian Market
According to the regional tourism delegate in Tabarka, Issa Marouani, these exchanges aim to strengthen the presence of the Tabarka-Aïn Draham destination on the Algerian market. He recalled that Algerian tourists already constitute the region's primary clientele.
Ongoing Discussions and Expected Tourist Flows
Current discussions focus on establishing specific agreements between travel agencies and hoteliers to better organize the expected tourist flows for next summer.
Tourism Figures and Growth
The numbers confirm this dynamic:
- In April, 92,460 Algerian tourists crossed the border posts of Meloula, Babouche, and Jlaiel, a increase from the 74,000 visitors recorded during the same period in 2025.
- The Meloula border post remains the primary entry point, with over 54,000 arrivals alone.
- Over the first four months of 2026, the region welcomed approximately 316,762 Algerian tourists, compared to 278,600 the previous year, representing a growth of over 13%.
Factors Contributing to Growth
This growth can be attributed to several factors, including:
- The region's geographical proximity to Algeria
- The region's natural wealth
- The diversity of the tourist offerings
These advantages continue to strengthen the attractiveness of Tabarka-Aïn Draham and stimulate the interest of local and foreign investors in the sector.
