Temporary Conservatory Measure Taken by Competition Council Regarding Minimum Fee Decision by Tunisian Accountants' Company

The Competition Council has taken a temporary conservatory measure regarding the suspension of the decision by the Tunisian Accountants' Company (CCT) establishing minimum fees for its members, pending the Council's examination of the merits of the dispute. This measure follows an investigation launched by the Council on March 27, which estimates that the publication of minimum tariffs by the CCT goes against the principles of free competition.

According to the Tunisian Agency for Press (TAP), the fees of experts in various fields should be based on supply and demand, and the decision to set minimum fees for accountants could violate these principles.

The Council is currently conducting investigations to resolve the dispute in accordance with Article 15 of Law No. 2015-36 of September 15, 2015, on the reorganization of competition and prices.

It is worth noting that the list of minimum tariffs by the CCT was published after its annual general assembly on March 19, 2023.
