Central Medical Commissions Abolished at District Level

The Ministry of Social Affairs announced in a statement on May 22 that central medical commissions at the district level have been abolished. From now on, the study and decision-making process for various medical services will be transferred to regional and local structures to ensure close medical follow-up.

This decentralization concerns a preliminary list of specific medications, medical devices, cardiac interventions, peritoneal dialysis, recognition of occupational diseases, and positron emission tomography (PET) scans, according to the ministry's statement.

The ministry emphasizes that this initiative aims to improve medical services and make them more accessible to social security beneficiaries.
