Applications Now Open for Google for Startups Accelerator Africa
The application period is now open for the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa program, a three-month initiative designed to support African startups in the early stages that leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to address major challenges on the continent.
Launched in 2018, the program has already supported 140 startups from nearly 17 African countries. For this new edition, it is targeting young companies, from seed to Series A, developing AI-centered solutions based in Africa.
To be eligible, startups must propose an operational product, be founded in part by an individual of African origin, and have a clear vision for responsible AI innovation. Selected projects will benefit from personalized technical support from Google and industry experts, Google Cloud credits of up to $350,000, and privileged access to an international network of investors, partners, and collaborators. Practical workshops will also be offered on topics such as technology, product strategy, leadership, and AI integration.
For Google, startups represent key solution vectors in Africa. This program reflects the conviction that AI can become a powerful lever for transformation, provided it is developed by actors who understand local realities.
