Ministry of Technologies Appoints New Committee for Startup Label Attribution
The Ministry of Technologies has just appointed a new Committee for attributing the Startup Label, a decision that falls within the national strategy to support innovation and growth of young enterprises. Notably, this committee, led by Smart Capital, will operate for a period of three years.
This label, a cornerstone of the Startup Act, offers Tunisian startups access to fiscal, financial, and regulatory benefits designed to facilitate their development.
According to the Jort, the new team will be chaired by Rim Saied, General Director of Smart Tunisian Technoparks (S2T), whose mission will be to coordinate a multidisciplinary group of profiles representing different links in the ecosystem. She will be surrounded by members from both the public and private sectors, chosen for their targeted expertise.
The public sector will be represented by Wissem El Mekki, designated by the Ministry of Technologies and Communication, as well as Jihène El Ouakdi, mandated by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
As for the private sector, the committee brings together profiles with complementary expertise: Hassen Arfaoui, recognized for his involvement in financing, accompanying, and creating innovative projects; Ghazi Saddem, specialist in financing and accompanying enterprises; Cyrine Mehiri Ben Achma, expert in innovation and startup support; Hanen Kaaouana Dhamri, entrepreneur engaged in the entrepreneurial ecosystem; Mehdi Nakouri, expert in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship; and Anis Sahbani, a reference figure in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation.
The diversity of these profiles, combined with solid field experience, constitutes a major asset for ensuring a rigorous and relevant evaluation of candidate projects.
