STAR Appoints Laurent THUILLIER as New General Director
The Board of Directors of the Tunisian Insurance and Reinsurance Company (STAR), which met on Wednesday, April 2, under the presidency of Adnène GALLAS, has appointed Laurent THUILLIER as General Director of STAR, effective April 23, 2025, to succeed Hassène FEKI, who will take on other important functions within the Groupama group.
With 33 years of experience in the insurance sector, Laurent THUILLIER joined Groupama in 1998 as Group Treasurer. In 2001, he became Director of Institutional and Corporate Client Relations at Banque FINAMA, a Groupama subsidiary, where he was responsible for managing client relationships for the entire Group, commercial development, and service improvement projects.
In 2007, he was appointed M&A Director at Groupama SA's International Division, where he successfully led acquisitions in Romania (3 companies), Greece, Turkey (2 companies), and Tunisia (STAR participation). He then became Secretary General of Groupama Asigurarien Romania in 2008 and Director of Audit, Risks, and Compliance at Groupama SA's International Division in 2013.
Since 2016, he has been Deputy General Director of Groupama Phoenix Asfalistikien Greece, where he has significantly contributed to the company's expansion and strategic positioning in the market.
Beyond his expertise in insurance and solid international experience, THUILLIER has also been heavily involved in associative life, notably as President of the France-Greece Chamber of Commerce and Industry, demonstrating his commitment to economic development and international exchanges.
