International Support for Tunisian Financial Sector Strike

The international trade union organization UNI Finance has expressed its support for the strike announced by the General Federation of Banks and Financial Institutions (FGEBF-UGTT), scheduled to take place on November 3 and 4, 2025, in Tunisia. This mobilization concerns bank and insurance workers who are demanding improved working conditions and salary increases.

In a statement published on Thursday, UNI Finance affirmed its full solidarity with Tunisian financial sector employees, considering their movement to be a legitimate struggle to defend purchasing power in the face of persistent inflation and deteriorating living conditions.

The organization recalled that social dialogue and collective bargaining are essential elements for maintaining balance in professional relationships. It praised the professionalism of Tunisian financial sector workers, highlighting their contribution to the stability of the national economic system.

UNI Finance also called on employers and Tunisian authorities to engage in constructive negotiations with the FGEBF-UGTT without delay and to respect trade union freedoms, in accordance with the standards of the International Labor Organization (ILO).

"Tunisian financial sector workers deserve decent pay and dignified working conditions," said UNI Finance, reaffirming its commitment to stand alongside them in this struggle for social justice, dignity, and equality.
