Ministry of Communication Technologies Supports Tunisian Startups and SMEs
The Ministry of Communication Technologies oversaw the signing of a framework agreement on Friday, May 30, to support Tunisian startups and SMEs. This agreement, signed at the Sfax Technopole's Digital Research Center, gathers key public and private actors, including telecom operators, banks, investment funds, and technology incubators.
**Boosting Local Technological Ecosystem
This agreement is part of the Ministry's field trip to Sfax, aiming to energize the local technological ecosystem and collaboration between public and private sectors. On this occasion, 34 new "startup" labels were awarded to innovative companies, bringing the total to 1,180 labels awarded since the launch of the national startup support program.
Highlighting Sfax Technopole's Potential
The visit highlighted the potential of Sfax Technopole, considered a strategic lever to stimulate innovation and value creation at both national and international levels. The Ministry emphasized the need to fully exploit the site's advantages to encourage Tunisian youth to innovate and contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable economic model.
**Showcasing Local Digital Solutions
On the sidelines of the agreement signing, several local companies showcased their innovative solutions and digital solutions, demonstrating the sector's dynamism in the region. The ministerial delegation also toured the Sakiet Ezzit's renewable energy integration center, monitoring the energy transition program and the strategic project to strengthen the wireless link between Sfax and Kerkennah.
Ministry's Visits to Various Establishments
The Ministry continued its visits to various establishments, including the Regional Agency for Telecommunications Studies and Research Center, and the Bir Ali Ben Khalifa post office, where it greenlit a rehabilitation and extension project. Particular attention was paid to the Agareb post office, which has been closed for several years: the Ministry announced the immediate launch of reconstruction works to restore postal services as soon as possible.
