Tunisian Telecom Operators Submit Bids for 5G Licenses

On Monday, September 23, 2024, Tunisie Telecom, Ooredoo Tunisie, and Orange Tunisie officially submitted their bids for 5G licenses during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Communication Technologies' headquarters.

This move is part of the call for tenders launched for the attribution of these licenses.

Sofiene Hemissi, Minister of Communication Technologies, recalled that the deployment of 5G is an integral part of the "national strategy for digital territorial development".

According to the minister, the Tunisian government sees 5G as a key vector in the digital transformation of major economic sectors. The initiative aims to strengthen digital infrastructure and expand access to very high-speed internet across the country.

According to the roadmap, the attribution of licenses and the start of 5G commercialization are scheduled for 2024.
