Tunisia Secures Key Positions at International Telecommunication Union
During the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly held in New Delhi, India, from October 15 to 24, 2024, Tunisia obtained several key positions within the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
This participation reinforces the country's role in the development of international standards in the information and communication technology sector.
Among the appointments, Imene Gaïch was elected Vice-Chairman of Study Group 20, which focuses on the Internet of Things and smart cities and communities. Slim Nabli, representing Tunisian Operators, will also hold the position of Vice-Chairman of Study Group 11, which deals with protocols, testing, and combating counterfeit goods.
Furthermore, Yosra Abbes was appointed Vice-Chairman of Study Group 13, dedicated to future networks.
Other important appointments include Adel Halilo, Vice-Chairman of Study Group 15, which concentrates on transport, access, and domestic infrastructure, as well as Sara Rabhi, Vice-Chairman of Study Group 21, focused on multimedia technologies and content distribution. Finally, Rim Belhaj was appointed Chairman of the Standardization Terminology Committee.
