Launch of the Third Phase of Self-Production Electricity Projects in Tunisia

A Step Towards Energy Autonomy

Within the framework of the Energy Transition Program for Public Establishments (Teep), a signing ceremony and handover of launch orders for the third phase of self-production electricity projects took place on Friday, October 4, at the headquarters of the National Agency for Energy Management (Anme).

These projects, which demonstrate a commitment to strengthening energy autonomy, are expected to be completed by the end of May 2025.

To oversee the implementation of these projects, seven Tunisian companies specializing in the installation of photovoltaic systems, as well as three consulting firms responsible for monitoring, were selected following an international call for tenders.

According to Nafaa Baccari, program manager, the total capacity of the upcoming installations will reach approximately 10 megawatts, distributed across 102 public institutions.

Recall that the first phase of the Teep program, with a capacity of 1 megawatt, was completed at the beginning of 2024. The second phase, with a capacity of 4 megawatts, is currently being finalized. For the final phase, which plans to add around 20 megawatts, the process of selecting companies and signing contracts is underway.
