8th Edition of the "Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil" Competition Organized by the National Olive Oil Office (ONH)

The National Olive Oil Office (ONH) is organizing the 8th edition of the competition for the "Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil", sponsored by the International Olive Council. The objective of this competition is to promote the commercialization of high-quality extra virgin olive oils, highlighting their organoleptic characteristics. Producers, associations, and packaging companies are invited to participate to have their olive oils recognized through a rigorous sensory evaluation.

Participation Conditions

The conditions for participation are strict. The extra virgin olive oils presented must meet the criteria of the applicable commercial standard and come from a homogeneous batch of at least 1,000 liters for small producers and 4,000 liters for large producers. Participants must submit representative samples of their production, in accordance with ISO standards, and ensure that the samples are correctly labeled and sealed. Each participant can submit only one oil and in only one category.

Registration

Registrations are open until January 31, 2025, and producers must register online or by mail with the ONH. Once the samples are received, the ONH will proceed with laboratory analysis and a tasting by a specialized jury. The goal is to determine the oils with the best fruit intensities, whether green or ripe. For more details, please consult this link: https://www.onh.com.tn/wp-content/uploads/regles_mho_8.pdf
