SFBT Sees Significant Decline in Sales of Carbonated Beverages in Q4 2024
The Tunisian Beverage Manufacturing Company (SFBT) has reported a sharp decline in its revenue from carbonated beverages in the last quarter of 2024. Local sales (excluding taxes) plummeted by 23.54%, reaching 33.91 million dinars, while exports dropped by 15.35%, amounting to 6.42 million dinars. In contrast, the beer segment showed mixed performances: local sales increased by 3%, totaling 154.80 million dinars, but exports plummeted by 54.46%, generating only 931,665 dinars.
In terms of volume, carbonated beverages experienced a significant decline, with 3,662,003 cases sold compared to 5,100,022 cases in the same period of the previous year, representing a 28.20% decrease. The beer segment, however, recorded a slight increase of 0.07%, reaching 456,738 hectoliters. These variations reflect divergent trends between the two main product categories of the company.
On the production side, a notable reduction was also observed. The production of carbonated beverages decreased by 29.12%, reaching 225,831 hectoliters, while beer production slightly decreased by 1.58%, to 472,259 hectoliters. These results translate to an overall decline in SFBT's performance, particularly in the carbonated beverages segment and export markets.
