Tunisia Signs Seven Agreements to Boost Job Creation and Economic Development

On April 23, the Ministry of Employment and the Ministry of Finance signed seven agreements aimed at encouraging the creation of projects and jobs in Tunisia.

These agreements are part of the provisions outlined in the 2025 Finance Law, which aims to support project financing, create jobs, and facilitate the integration of independent workers into the formal sector. They also seek to facilitate access to financing for emerging enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), while consolidating the role of the State in economic and social development.

Four agreements were signed with the Tunisian Bank of Solidarity (BTS), including:

  • A financing of 20 million dinars from the National Employment Fund to support vulnerable categories and low-income individuals.
  • A financing of 5 million dinars from the National Employment Fund to support people with disabilities, with zero-interest loans for activities in various economic sectors.
  • A financing of 2 million dinars from the National Employment Fund for members of the Fidaa Institution, including victims of terrorist attacks, military personnel, internal security forces, customs officers, and relatives of martyrs of the revolution and their wounded. This financing provides interest-free loans with no personal contribution.
  • A financing of 10 million dinars from the National Employment Fund for promoters engaged in the personal initiative system.

As for the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Promotion Agency (BFPME), three agreements were signed to support SMEs:

  • A financing of 10 million dinars to meet the operational needs of SMEs.
  • A financing of 7 million dinars to provide medium- and long-term loans to SMEs.
  • A financing of 3 million dinars to offer zero-interest loans to innovative entrepreneurs.

These agreements are expected to boost job creation and economic development in Tunisia.
