New Four-Year Technical Cooperation Program between Tunisia and Japan to Boost Industrial Sector
A new four-year technical cooperation program between Tunisia and Japan (2024-2028) has been announced to improve the quality and productivity of Tunisia's industrial sector.
This program follows the positive results of previous collaboration phases, which began in 2006, and aims to reinforce Tunisia's national quality policy and the competitiveness of its industrial sector.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy at the opening of the 9th annual "Africa Kaizen 2024" conference in Tunis, under the presidency of the Head of Government.
The conference, held on October 28 and 29, brings together over 155 participants from 23 countries, including representatives from Japan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the African Union Development Agency (NEPAD-AUDA).
The Minister of Industry highlighted the importance of this initiative as part of a strategy for a more solidary and developed Africa, relying on the Japanese "Kaizen" method for continuous improvement of industrial processes. She also emphasized the role of cutting-edge technologies, digitization, and artificial intelligence in supporting this transformation.
Since the beginning of this collaboration, over 200 Tunisian companies have received technical support, resulting in a significant improvement in their productivity. Seven of them have won the African "Kaizen" award since its creation in 2019. This cooperation program aims to consolidate these achievements and make Tunisia a model of reference in terms of quality and productivity on the continent.
