Sanofi Boosts its Presence in Hyderabad, India
The French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi is shifting into high gear in Hyderabad, southern India. The company is strengthening its local Global Capability Centre (GCC) and aims to employ over 4,500 people.
A Significant Industrial Boost
According to a statement, Sanofi will invest several hundred million euros in this project, without revealing the exact figure or hiring schedule. It's worth noting that in 2024, the group had already promised 400 million euros by the end of the decade for this same site.
From Low-Cost Centers to Innovation Hubs
Originally, these GCCs in India were primarily used to outsource low-cost tasks. Today, they have become essential for multinationals, with much more ambitious missions. At Sanofi, the company is recruiting experts in R&D, AI, data analysis, medical affairs, and even commercial or corporate positions.
A Growing Market
India currently has over 1,700 GCCs, employing 1.9 million professionals, according to the consulting firm Anarock. The market is expected to be worth $105-110 billion by 2030, with an annual growth rate of 10% and over 2,400 centers.
