Egyptian Fintech Startup Sahl Raises $6 Million to Simplify Public Service Payments

The Egyptian startup Sahl, specializing in bill payment, announced on June 11 that it has successfully raised $6 million in funding.

This financing will enable the company to develop its services and improve its technology, with the goal of becoming the primary one-stop shop for public service payments in Egypt and beyond.

Currently serving over 12 million customers per month, Sahl offers more than 50 essential services, ranging from electricity to telecommunications, in partnership with government entities.

The startup aims to simplify and secure public service payments through innovative technologies such as Near Field Communication (NFC).

The company's strategic vision also includes regional expansion, starting with the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

"We are determined to make public service payments simple and secure," the startup stated in a LinkedIn post, adding "This funding will help us achieve our vision of becoming the primary payment point for public services, not only in Egypt but also in other regions."
