Government Council Meeting Addresses Critical Situation of ELBEN Industries Dairy Plant

A ministerial council meeting, chaired by Head of Government Kamel Madouri, was held on Friday to discuss the critical situation of the ELBEN Industries dairy plant, located in Sidi Bouali, Sousse Governorate.

The plant, which has been inactive since 2019, faces major challenges. Madouri called for the rapid implementation of a "practical and urgent" program to relaunch its activities as soon as possible. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach that combines the company's sustainability, social coverage for employees, and emergency financial assistance.

The Head of Government also highlighted the need to identify suitable legal and financial solutions, while accelerating procedures to ensure the company's long-term viability, in line with the President of the Republic's guidelines.

The meeting stressed the importance of collaboration between all stakeholders to revitalize the dairy sector, streamline distribution channels, and maximize value chains.

According to Madouri, the resumption of ELBEN Industries' activities is expected to generate a positive dynamic between farmers, cattle breeders, and fodder systems, contributing to the strengthening of national food security.

Finally, the Head of Government underscored the essential role of the State in supporting struggling businesses, reaffirming his commitment to restoring their economic and social role.

The meeting was attended by the ministers concerned with this strategic dossier.
