Ivory Coast Introduces Entry Visa for Citizens Traveling to Morocco
The Ivorian government has decided to introduce an entry visa for Ivorian citizens traveling to Morocco, effective September 1, 2024. This measure, which will be in effect for a 2-year experimental period, aims to address the surge in clandestine migrations, particularly the transit of migrants through Morocco en route to Europe.
Citizens of Morocco, as well as those who already hold valid visas or residence permits, are exempt from this new requirement. The measure will be reassessed after one year to adjust policies based on observed results.
