South Africa Ranked as the Most Dangerous Country to Drive in 2025
According to a study conducted by the American platform Zutobi, specializing in road education, South Africa has been designated as the most dangerous country to drive in. The study evaluates road safety in 53 countries worldwide, based on several indicators such as mortality rate, drunk driving, seatbelt use, speed, and the effectiveness of legislation.
Behind South Africa, five other countries complete the ranking of the most reckless drivers: the United States, Argentina, India, and Malaysia. These countries display high rates of road mortality, insufficient application of safety rules, and frequent risky driving behavior.
The study also highlights Morocco, which appears in the ranking, although it does not feature among the six worst. The country faces challenges in urban driving, disregard for the highway code, and uneven awareness across regions. On the other hand, Tunisia is not included in this evaluation.
On the opposite end of this ranking, Norway has been designated as the country where drivers are the most cautious, with a highly effective regulatory system, a very low mortality rate, and excellent user awareness.
