CI Open Lab Program Concludes First Cohort with Four Winning Projects
On Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Tunisie Foundation, the CI Open Lab program closed its first cohort with a remarkable announcement: four projects were awarded, exceeding the initial three winners planned. This decision reflects the exceptional quality of the submitted applications.
Among the winners, several initiatives stand out for their innovative approach and strong scientific and entrepreneurial dimension. One of the awarded spin-offs is led by a Ph.D. student from Sfax, whose research work has led to the creation of a high-potential solution for the industrial sector. Another project was carried by a researcher accompanied by her post-doctoral fellow, also based in Sfax, developing a product or technology from their academic research, demonstrating the importance of collaboration between fundamental research and entrepreneurship.
A third winner represents a dynamic startup founded by an entrepreneur from Sfax, while a multidisciplinary team composed of pharmacists and researchers based in Monastir also saw their project rewarded. This project stands out for its contribution to optimizing solutions in the health sector, with a strong emphasis on innovation and scientific research.
These winning projects will now benefit from the support of the CI Open Lab program, which will provide them with personalized guidance to help them overcome the critical stages of their development, from incubation to commercialization. Thanks to this initiative, these researchers and entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to closely collaborate with industry, consolidating the link between the academic world and economic sectors.
