Warning from the National Council of the Medical Order of Tunisia

The National Council of the Medical Order of Tunisia (CNOM) has sounded the alarm over the proliferation of advertising content published by some doctors on social media. In a statement made public, the Council recalled that any form of advertising, direct or indirect, is strictly prohibited by the Medical Code of Ethics.

Compliance with the Code of Ethics

The Medical Order emphasized the obligation for all practitioners to comply with the provisions of the Code of Ethics and the Charter governing the use of the web and digital media. Doctors who have published promotional content - whether texts, images, videos, testimonials, sponsored content, or collaborations with influencers - are called upon to remove it without delay.

Disciplinary Procedures

The CNOM also indicated that disciplinary procedures have already been initiated against doctors who have breached these rules, while other cases are being examined. The institution warns that any recurrence or new offense may lead to severe sanctions, up to and including removal from the Order's Register.

Protecting the Dignity of the Medical Profession

The President of the Council, Dr. Rym Ghachem Attia, reaffirmed through this statement the Order's determination to enforce medical ethics and preserve the dignity of the profession, while protecting the interests of patients and society.
