4th Edition of Cetime Sectoral Meetings Held in Tunis
The 4th edition of the Cetime sectoral meetings took place on March 26, 2026, in Tunis, focusing on the electrical, electronic, and mechatronic industries.
Event Overview
Three hundred industrialists, researchers, and institutional representatives gathered at the UTICA headquarters for the 4th edition of the Cetime Sectoral Meetings. The objective was to translate commitments to energy and ecological transition into concrete actions.
A Long-Term Commitment
The concept was born out of a simple observation. "Seminars are one-time events," explains Noureddine Guizani, General Director of Cetime. To address this, the center created an annual format, dedicated to a specific sector, to ensure follow-up over time. Since 2025, three editions have already taken place:
- The first in Tunis for the electrical and mechatronic sector
- The second in Sousse for the automotive and aeronautics sector
- The third in Sfax for mechanics and metallurgy This decentralization is intentional, reflecting the industrial reality of the regions.
Reflection Tables, Not Lectures
The format is based on three or four thematic reflection tables. Each table addresses a family of services offered by Cetime and opens a debate on the real needs of companies. At the end of each edition, an annual action plan is established, followed up jointly with partners: clusters, universities, and sectoral federations. "At each new edition, we evaluate the plan from the previous year," Guizani specifies. Unimplemented actions are taken up again, and those that have been successful pave the way for new commitments.
Ecological Transition at the Heart of Needs
For the electrical and mechatronic sector, the needs identified in previous editions revolve around three axes:
- Specialized training
- Energy transition
- Access to prototyping On the latter point, the Center for Technological Resources (CRT) in Sousse offers mechanical and electronic platforms accessible to startups and SMEs that do not have their own means.
Context and Future Editions
This edition takes place in a context marked by the entry into force of the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the increasing demands for industrial decarbonation. For Tunisian exporting companies, the pressure is real. For 2026, Cetime plans two new editions:
- The 5th edition will be dedicated to aeronautics and automotive in Sousse
- The 6th edition will be dedicated to mechanics and metallurgy in Sfax The guiding thread remains the same: ecological and energy transition, declined sector by sector.
