Prosol Elec Économique Project Officially Launched to Promote Sustainable Energy Solutions for Middle-Income Families

The "Prosol Elec Économique" project was officially launched on September 25, on the sidelines of the first edition of the Mediterranean Decarbonization Forum, DecarboMed.

This program, designed for middle-income families with low electricity consumption, is the result of a collaboration between the National Agency for Energy Management (ANME) and the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG), under the supervision of the Secretary of State for Energy Transition, Wael Chouchane.

The Prosol Elec Économique project falls within the framework of the self-production of electricity through solar photovoltaic energy, specifically designed for households with moderate annual consumption, between 1,200 and 1,800 kWh. The program aims to encourage these households to adopt sustainable energy solutions while benefiting from financial support.

A key component of the project is its financing system, based on a fixed-rate loan of 3% over a period of 10 years. This loan will be repaid directly through electricity and gas bills, making the process simple and accessible for participants.

Additionally, a subsidy of 1,500 dinars will be granted for each installation under the project, accompanied by another financial support in the form of a loan reduction of approximately 1,200 dinars, jointly funded by the Energy Transition Fund and the Facility for Climate Action (MAF), in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

This ambitious project aims to finance the installation of solar systems for around 66,000 households, contributing to Tunisia's energy transition while supporting middle-income families in reducing their energy bills.
