Minister of Environment Inaugurates Wastewater Treatment Plant in Sousse, Tunisia

Last Friday, the Minister of Environment, Leila Chikhaoui-Mahdaoui, accompanied by Ambassador Anne Guéguen, inaugurated the Kondar wastewater treatment plant in Sousse, in the presence of Mr. Nabil Ferjani, Governor of Sousse, and representatives of regional authorities.

A Key Project in the 5th Phase of the National Sanitation Program

This project is part of the 5th phase of the National Sanitation Program for Popular Neighborhoods (PNAQP5), funded by France through the French Development Agency (AFD), with a total budget of €150.4 million. The project will benefit approximately 1 million inhabitants of 900 popular neighborhoods.

State-of-the-Art Technology for Sustainable Water Management

Notably, this station is equipped with the latest technologies, enabling the reuse of treated water for agricultural irrigation, industry, and groundwater recharge.
