International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) Announces the 2024 Edition of the Youth Innovation Award

The International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) is pleased to announce the opening of the 2024 edition of the Youth Innovation Award. Launched in 2022, this award aims to encourage and reward brilliant young minds who design and implement innovative solutions for an ecological and sustainable transition in the Mediterranean region.

This award is granted to an innovative solution, whether a product or service, with a scientific or entrepreneurial character. To be eligible, the solution must be at least at the pilot stage, developed by a young Mediterranean under 39 years old, and implemented in a country in the region. The winning innovation must demonstrate its positive impact on the environmental, social, and economic sustainability of Mediterranean food systems.

The winner of this award will receive a €10,000 grant, a CIHEAM medal, and an honorary certificate. Additionally, supplementary rewards are planned, including a one-year scholarship for the Master's program in Open Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Youth at CIHEAM Bari, as well as a professional internship with a partner company.

The award ceremony will take place during Ecomondo-The Green Technology Expo, one of the world's most important fairs dedicated to the green and circular economy, to be held in Rimini, Italy, from November 5 to 8, 2024.

This award is initiated in partnership with the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED), and the Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises (BusinessMed).

The call for applications is open until August 15, 2024, via this link.
