Biodev 2030 Project: Second Version Presented to Promote Biodiversity and Sustainable Development in Tunisia

The second version of the Biodev 2030 project was presented during a meeting between the Minister of Environment, Leila Chikhaoui Mahdaoui, and Parasanna De Silva, Director of the International Offices Network at the Global Environment Facility, along with Jamal Jrijer, Director of the Global Environment Facility (North Africa Office), and Saba Guellouz, Director of Nature Conservation at the office, in the presence of officials from the Ministry of Environment.

The project is set to be officially launched on May 23, 2024, with the goal of integrating biodiversity into development and public policies, in line with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. Additionally, discussions took place on programmed projects, where Tunisia will be the main partner.

It was also agreed to strengthen cooperation, continue working on joint projects, and reinforce efforts to protect nature and promote sustainable development in Tunisia.

Recall that the Banking and Financial Council has committed to supporting Biodev 2030.
