Tunisian Government Prepares for Summer Return of Expatriates
The Tunisian Head of Government, Ahmed Hachani, chaired a ministerial meeting on April 23rd to discuss preparations for the return of Tunisian expatriates during the upcoming summer season.
Several decisions were made during the meeting. Among them, the acceleration of the promulgation of the decree project on the franchise regime for change of residence (FCR) and the establishment of an electronic platform by the Ministry of the Interior, in coordination with the General Directorate of Customs, to process requests.
Furthermore, it was decided to allocate 500 discounted travel tickets to underprivileged families among Tunisian expatriates, with 200 tickets on board CTN and 300 tickets on board Tunisair. Arrangements will also be made at the La Goulette port to accommodate travelers, including doubling the number of check-in counters from 18 to 36.
These measures aim to facilitate the return of Tunisian expatriates while ensuring efficient administrative formalities and providing additional support to the most disadvantaged families among them.
