Election of Professor Rym Ghachem as President of the Maghreb Federation of Medical Orders
Professor Rym Ghachem has been elected president of the Maghreb Federation of Medical Orders, following the organization's 8th congress held from January 31 to February 1, 2026, according to the TAP agency.
A Historic Appointment
As the current president of the National Council of the Medical Order of Tunisia, she becomes the first woman to hold the position at the head of this regional body, which brings together the medical orders of the Maghreb countries.
Congress Objectives
The congress focused on regional medical cooperation and the development of expertise exchanges between health professionals, according to the same source.
Federation's Goals
Quoting the new president, the TAP agency indicates that the Federation, created in 2022, holds regular meetings, "almost every three months", to identify common areas for improving health systems and working towards harmonizing legislative frameworks in the region.
Strengthening Maghreb Unity in Healthcare
Professor Rym Ghachem also emphasized the importance of strengthening Maghreb unity in the health sector, highlighting efforts to facilitate the mobility of doctors and improve their working conditions, according to the TAP agency.
