This weekend, President Kaïs Saïed took firm action against the severe pollution in Gabès. During a meeting with the Ministers of Industry, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, and Environment, Habib Abid, he ordered the immediate dispatch of a joint team from both ministries to the phosphoric acid plant of the Gabès Chemical Group. Their mission is to carry out urgent repairs and put an end to the dangerous situation threatening the local environment.

The President emphasized the urgency of acting by developing a strategic plan that would put a definitive end to the environmental disasters caused by these plants. This plan should draw inspiration from the one designed by the youth of Gabès over ten years ago, which already denounced the dangers of industrial pollution in the region.
